Home Care Services

Understanding Live-in Home Care

When you or a loved one need an increased level of care, you still have the option to remain at home. You might be the daughter or son who has been helping mom or dad and things have just reached a point where you need a little help yourself. 24 hour home care means that a caregiver is available when needed, but that your loved one has the personal space and autonomy as if they were living alone.

About Live-In Care for seniors

Live-In Home Care is an option for families who need more care, however, live-in home care services are not as well understood as assisted living or nursing home options. When considering non-medical live-in help, we know you have a lot of questions. First, the referred caregiver can live in the home, provided that there is a separate bedroom. There are no additional charges for room and board for live-in care, but the cost of meals (or a meal stipend) are usually provided by the family or the referred caregiver can simply cook the meals for the client and dine alongside the family. Many caregivers have a driver’s license and own their own car to accompany your loved one to appointments and go grocery shopping. If you prefer, a caregiver can drive your car or theirs.

What are common caregiver services?

Non-medical caregivers can assist with activities of daily living, or the things that we normally do to remain functional at home.

What type of care do you need?

A case coordinator at our office can work with you to understand your needs. You may have an idea of what non-medical in home care services you need help with today, but most clients are amazed at the variety of services that a referred caregiver can assist with to make you and your loved one more comfortable. Before a caregiver is referred, a care coordinator will speak with you over the phone and meet in person for an in home visit to discuss your needs and desires, and tell you about the unique Always Caring Home Health model of in home care.
